His pioneering contributions include performing India’s first elective heart auto transplantation in 1997, the Battista Operation for dilated cardiomyopathy in 1999, and Awake Cardiac Surgery (CONCAB) in 2004.
  He has also been instrumental in introducing Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery and Endovascular Procedures in India, including the VATS program in 2000, which has resulted in 1,800+ VATS surgeries to date. Additionally, he has contributed extensively to the advancement of total chordal preservation in mitral valve replacement and thoracoscopic (VATS) lung and thymectomy surgeries.
